The Wolfhound class was a class of destroyers built and operated by the Royal Manticoran Navy.
They were designed as general purpose destroyers during the Janacek Admiralty to replace all older destroyer models. Heavier than the preceding Culverin class, this new design was fitted with all the new automation technology created during the war, making it more effective than many pre-war light cruisers. With a crew of only 87, a Wolfhound could be manned by a fraction of the personnel needed for older destroyers like the Culverin.
However, when the RMN realized how effective the Roland class was on wartime duties, production of Wolfhounds effectively ceased. Only 19 units were in service after half of the original flight was destroyed in the Battle of Grendelsbane at Grendelsbane Station. Most of these ships were assigned to Silesia Station to Admiral Mark Sarnow's Ninth Fleet. (Companion)
