An uni-link was a portable communication device used in the Star Kingdom of Manticore and other star nations.
It allowed person-to-person calls much like a pre-Diaspora cell phone, including the ability to take messages. It was also equipped with a GPS tracker, and could be connected to a constant weather feed. (SK1, SK2, SK3)
In the People's Republic of Haven and most other star nations, the uni-link was used as a "credit card", capable of facilitating the electronic transfer of currency from one account to another, and could change the color of programmable clothing. (RE)
