Tyrel was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.

In 1904 PD, he held the rank of Admiral and served as commanding officer of a battlecruiser squadron based on Hancock Station. Admiral Tyrel was at meeting with Vice Admiral Sir Yancey Parks aboard HMS Gryphon, where he was ordered to send ships to Alizon, Yorik, and to Zanzibar. (HH3)
