The Truncheon class was a class of heavy cruisers of the Royal Manticoran Navy.

History[]

Intended as a cheaper companion model to the Warrior class, it was delayed fifteen years due to funding problems.

With several squadrons of the ancient Acherner class[1] long overdue for retirement when the Truncheon finally enter service, production problems with the Warriors led to the original production run of Truncheons to be lengthened in 1822 PD.

In the early 1830s PD, two divisions of Flight I Truncheons were refitted into Marine operations support cruisers, leading to the creation of the Nightstick class.

The last of the seventy-seven ships of the class were retired in 1905 PD. (JIR1, Companion
