Tausig was a Manticoran citizen and a soldier of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps.
Holding the rank of Sergeant, he served aboard the heavy cruiser HMS War Maiden. Known throughout the ship as a tough instructor, he sparred with Honor Harrington during her Midshipman cruise. (HHA3.1: MMH)
