Does WS2 actually say Torch got all the ships? I only remember them getting Spartacus... -- SaganamiFan 10:33, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

One of last chapters. Rozsak didn't want them - manpower intense white elephants (Havenite platforms), quite obsolete in fact.--dotz 17:40, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
One expects that, with the example of the Nat Turner class frigates (electronics fit, computer controls, ...) that they will be upgraded, perhaps by Manticore. And one expects that Manticore will find the Cataphract missile equipment of some interest, given what the Alignment did to Manticore and Grayson shortly afterwards. And the debriefing of the surviving People's Navy in Exile personnel. Wikipedia ww 07:19, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
Very limited information exchange between Torch-Maya-Erewhon and the SEM was going to be improved (minimal info concerning Battle of Torch, but spider drive issue was revealed, when Zilwicki and Cachat get back, peace between Manticore and Haven was in close perspective, and Beowulfian moderation occured). On the other hand I think manpower intense designs, especially Solarian, were unupgradable, and those ships were just provisoric platforms for the RTN (some possible upgrades were made by the PNE - 25% anti-missile defence increase was mentioned - probably because of some software stuff). The question is what is worth doing - upgrade sth obsolete or produce sth new (ESN wallers or Nat Turner) - when shipyard capabilities are limited (those in Erewhon, the SEM wasn't able to sell Torch anything modern, after their shipyards were destroyed). The similar thing was discussed, when Crandall's SDs were concerned - they were just useless for all modern navies in fact.--dotz 19:27, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

It must be remembered that the captured vessels in question had a nuclear destruct built in to them. So they may not be much more than a Trojan Horse of a gift, whose mouth should definitely be looked into. Somebody could get killed.

This point was made in some contextual material recently deleted form the article. Perhpas something should be restored? Wikipedia ww 08:22, March 4, 2010 (UTC)
Let's restore it when sth really blows up (it is described at PNE article).--dotz 10:53, March 4, 2010 (UTC)

What happened to the 15 LAC that Manpower had at Verdant Vista? (WS1) IMWK 02:24, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

While there was no shooting in fact I suspect they were abandoned (scuttled) and their crew taken by the Mesan Space Navy. --dotz (talk) 08:32, September 19, 2019 (UTC)

HMS Harvest Joy[]

The matter is unclear, begining form the question is she was leased to the Kingdom of Torch or to the RTN directly. If she didn't change he prefix, she was still Manty vessel (compare second world war US Lend-Lease programme). Anyway some mention about such lease is recomended.--dotz (talk) 08:37, October 2, 2019 (UTC)
