- That's a misunderstanding. The passage in question (at the beginning of Chapter 9 of On Basilisk Station) refers to the fact that Matsuko recognizes Honor as Sphinxian, and also that she herself is not from there because she does not have the typical increased physical strength. -- SaganamiFan (talk) 08:58, December 9, 2013 (UTC)

Knight rank[]
Do we know for sure she's a Dame Grand Cross? IIRC, she was a KOR/KR in On Basilisk Station and I don't recall any mention of a promotion. Source please? To slake my curiosity? TheGrandAlliance (talk) 02:34, December 9, 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not sure where this comes from either. A number of things our articles say about knighthood are not really based on a reference in the book but rather some conjecture based on how real-world British nobility and knighthood work (even though the creators have stated before that the Manticoran model is not identical to the former). -- SaganamiFan (talk) 08:58, December 9, 2013 (UTC)
- The sources given are HH2 and SI2; HH2's final chapter says that Anthony Langtry was KGCR, but not that he had to be to bestow a knighthood upon Honor in the name of the queen. SI2 includes Matsuko knighting Terekhov, but doesn't mention her own rank in the order at all. -- SaganamiFan (talk) 08:47, December 13, 2013 (UTC)
