The Sword Steading was a Grayson steading, a feudal province on Grayson.
Created from the steadings of the treasonous Steadholders Bancroft, Oswald, and Simmonds following their defeat by Benjamin the Great in the Grayson Civil War, the Sword Steading was the personal demesue of the Protector. Meanwhile Mayhew Steading became the steading of the Protector's heir. (Companion)
