Survey Command was a component command of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
It was one of the RMN's smaller commands.
In peace time, it was one of the RMN's most active commands, specifically responsible for updating star charts and astrographic databases, locating undiscovered wormholes, and surveying additional star systems around the periphery of known space. In wartime, it became the Navy's "redheaded stepchild" when the Navy's war-fighting responsibilities superseded its normal roles. (CS4)
