The Secretary of War was a cabinet minister in the Kingdom of Torch, responsible for overseeing the Torch military, most importantly the Royal Torch Navy.
The first person to hold the position was Jeremy X, the infamous terrorist and head of the Audubon Ballroom. At the insistence of Torch's first Prime Minister, W.E.B. Du Havel, it was titled "Secretary of War" instead of something more ambiguous like "Secretary of Defense".[1] (CS1) This was to indicate Torch's fundamental opposition to the slaver-planet Mesa, and its intention to make war upon Mesa and the slave trade.
