Sebastian D'Orville was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
History[]
From 1850 to 1855 PD, D'Orville served in the Concept Development Office under Commander Jonas Adcock.
Around 1900 PD, D'Orville held the rank of Admiral of the Green and had his flag aboard the superdreadnought HMS King Roger, flagship of the Manticoran Home Fleet. At that time, he led Home Fleet as the aggressors in a series of war games. Admiral D'Orville was embarrassed by Commander Honor Harrington, when her ship, the light cruiser HMS Fearless, "destroyed" King Roger. Consequently, Admiral D'Orville destroyed Fearless in every following game. (HH1, OBS)
He was later given command of the Second Fleet, the RMN's defense force that helped the Grayson Space Navy guard Yeltsin's Star. He was reinforced with units under Admiral White Haven's command shortly before the Third Battle of Yeltsin's Star. (HH3)
He was among those officers put on half-pay by the High Ridge government. (HH10)
Admiral D'Orville was restored to active service and once again given command of Home Fleet prior to Operation Beatrice. He died defending the Manticore System during the Battle of Manticore. (HH11)
