Monroe or Sharp Claw among his own kind, was a Sphinxian treecat of the Moon Water Clan and one of the few known to have bonded with two subsequent human partners.
Physical appearance[]
Monroe[1] had green-gold eyes. His fur was grey- and cream-colored. (HHA2.3: QG)
Biography[]
He was born on Sphinx and originally bonded with Crown Prince Roger Winton, who later became King Roger III of Manticore. He loved playing with building blocks, owning several sets of them. After the King was assassinated by a Havenite covert operation in 1883 PD, Monroe went into deep mourning, depression, and anger, refusing food and water. The Royal family feared for his life, knowing that treecats seldom survived losing their adoptees.
A few days later, Justin Zyrr, fiancé of Elizabeth III, King Roger's daughter and successor, was assaulted by Major Padraic Dover, a member of the cabal that had assassinated the king. Monroe roused to Zyrr's defense and they bonded during the struggle.
Daniel Chou arrested Dover for treason as the fight ended, but Monroe realized the major was at least partly responsible for Roger's death, leaped at Dover's face and killed him by tearing his throat open. (HHA2.3: QG)
