Monarch of Manticore

The King or Queen of Manticore was the head of state and government of the Star Kingdom of Manticore. The throne was in the hands of the House of Winton since Roger Winton, President and CEO of Manticore Colony, Ltd., was crowned King in 1485 PD

As in ancient Great Britain, the office of the Monarch was officially known as the "Crown". (HH2)

In 1921 PD, the Manticoran kingdom was transformed into a Star Empire, so future monarchs would be known as Emperor or Empress of Manticore. (SI2)

Lords and ladies that lacked an heir to inherit had their titles transferred to the Monarch of Manticore. (MA4)

The monarch could not directly issue orders to military units. (CS1)

If the monarch was female, it was common for her male subjects to kiss her hand at official occasions. (HH10)
