MaleMateo Gutierrez was a San Martin-born Manticoran citizen and a non-commissioned officer of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps and later an officer of the Owens Steadholder's Guard.

Biography[]
Gutierrez was a native of the planet San Martin in the Trevor's Star System, and arrived in the Star Kingdom of Manticore as a child after the invasion of his home by the People's Republic of Haven.
Holding the rank of Platoon Sergeant, he served aboard HMS Gauntlet. He commanded the Marine shore party that accompanied Midshipwoman Abigail Hearns to the surface of the planet Refuge in the Tiberian System. (HHA4.6: TSotS)
He later transferred to the Owens Steadholder's Guard and accepted an officer's commission with the rank of Lieutenant, to become Abigail Hearns' personal armsman.[1] In that capacity, he accompanied her on her assignments aboard the heavy cruiser HMS Hexapuma. and the destroyer HMS Tristram.
