Matapan was a collective name for several systems that surrounded the Matapan Terminus of the Manticore Wormhole Junction. The central system was the Matapan System, a planet-less M4 star close to the terminus.
Matapan was located 472 light years from Manticore. It is beyond the Andermani Empire and bordered by Asgard to the southeast. Matapan contained a wormhole terminus that connected it to the Star Kingdom of Manticore.
Matapan was a comparably recently settled area, with most of the settlement done via the wormhole junction. (HH3,Companion)
