Jason Alvarez was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
Biography[]
In 1903 PD, Jason Alvarez held the rank of Commander and was commanding officer of HMS Madrigal. He was ordered by Admiral Raoul Courvosier to help the Grayson Space Navy during the First Battle of Yeltsin's Star.
During the battle, Alvarez gave Commodore Wesley Matthews of GNS Covington vital information about the Masadan fleet. He then ordered Madrigal to cover Covington's retreat.
Commander Alvarez and about fifty to sixty crewmembers were captured by the Masadans. He was taken to Blackbird Base and placed in a cell with Mercedes Brigham and Mai-ling Jackson. He was later killed trying to protect his officers from the Masadans. (HH2)

Jason Alvarez' name and memory were held in high honor by the people of Grayson:
- the Jason Alvarez class of heavy cruisers and its lead ship were named after him. (HH3)
- Alvarez Field, a GSN planetary base near Harrington City, also bore his name. (HH7)
