Lord James Mantegna, Earl of Dapplelake, was a Manticoran peer of the realm and politician.
In the early 16th Century PD, he served as Defense Minister. (MA1)
Following the destruction of the experimental sloop HMS Phobos, he started an investigation and handed in his resignation along with the final report, although it did not put any of the blame of him. The king and the Prime Minister tried to change his mind, but he considered himself ultimately responsible for the death of the Phobos' crew.
Lady Clara Sumner, Countess Calvingdell, replaced him. (MA2)
