The Hauptman Cartel was a Manticoran corporation owned the Hauptman family and the largest, richest shipping business in all of Manticore. The cartel's main focus was in merchant trade, though it did bid on and work on contracts for the Royal Manticoran Navy's research and development efforts.

The cartel was founded by Heinrich Hauptman, a zero-balancer, some time after the Manticoran Plague and the last great wave of assisted immigration. (HH6)
