HMS Valiant[1] was the lead ship of the eponymous class of light cruisers of the Royal Manticoran Navy.

The ship was commissioned in 1902 PD as the first of her class, marking a departure from typical Manticoran light cruiser design of the time. (Companion)
Toward the end of the First Havenite-Manticoran War, Valiant was assigned to an element of three Valiant-class light cruisers under the command of Captain Aivars Terekhov on a convoy escort mission to the Hyacinth System. Once in Hyacinth, she, the rest of the escort, and the convoy were attacked by raiders of the People's Navy. In the following Battle of Hyacinth, all of theManticoran escorts and all but two freighters were lost. (SI1)
