HMS Ajax was an Agamemnon-class pod-laying battlecruiser of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
History[]
In 1922 PD, the Ajax was the flagship of Rear Admiral Michelle Henke's understrength battlecruiser squadron in Task Force 82, assigned to Eighth Fleet. The Ajax was destroyed in the Battle of Solon, with all hands feared lost. Battle damage to her impeller ring had prevented an escape into hyper, and damage to her boat bays excluded the possibility of most of the crew abandoning ship.
Later it was discovered that about a third of the crew, including Admiral Henke, had managed to escape the ship before it was destroyed. They were rescued by the Republican Navy and transferred to POW camps. (HH11, SI2)
