Germany was a nation on Old Earth that existed as a loose confederacy of small states, an Empire, and later as a federal republic. Its inhabitants were long primarely identified by their common use of the German language.
One of the most important German states was the Kingdom of Prussia, which rose to greatness under Frederick the Great. During the later rise of the racist Nazi regime in the early 20th Century CE, German military officers included Erwin Rommel, who was still remembered in the Post Diaspora era. (HH2)
German culture and language remained influential in the Diaspora; nations strongly based on it included:
