A common ferret
The ferret was an animal species, one of a family of similar species, native to Earth. Their chief characteristic was their long, flexible bodies, alert intelligence and playfulness, and smooth fur. Ferrets in particular, though active carnivores, made excellent, though energetic, companion animals. They, and the smaller members of the group, climbed trees with great speed and skill.
In 1903 PD, Nimitz was described as moving "like a ferret" when the Brotherhood of Maccabeus attempted to assassinate Protector Benjamin IX and his family. (HH2)
The Ferret-class of new, agile light attack crafts was named after the creature. (HH9)
