The Faithful of the Church of Humanity Unchained were the conservative faction in the Grayson Civil War, who were later shipped of to the Endicott System where they founded the star nation of Masada.

History Edit

The extreme orthodox wing of the Church of Humanity Unchained, the Faithful were extremely anti-technology and rejected the divinity of Jesus because of Earth's increasing level of technology after he died. Women were little more than wholly-owned chattel in their eyes.

They eventually rebelled against the Moderates and began a bloody Civil War by killing almost all Steadholders and Protector John II. However, the Moderates rallied under the command of John II's son and heir, Benjamin IV, and fought back. The Faithful were defeated when Barbara Bancroft, the wife of their leader Jeremiah Bancroft, escaped from them and revealed their plan to lay waste to the Moderates. The defeated Faithful were then exiled to Masada, from which they hoped to one day re-conquer or at least destroy Grayson. (HH2)

Centuries later, after the fall of Masada, Ephraim Templeton founded the Church of Humanity Unchained (Defiant), an even more radical sect of the Faithful. (CS1)
