Eric Flint (1947-2022) was an American science fiction and fantasy author, editor, and publisher. A vast majority of his main works are alternate history science fiction, but he also writes humorous fantasy.
Flint wrote two short stories for the Honorverse anthologies Changer of Worlds and The Service of the Sword, both of which serve as preludes to the "Crown of Slaves" sub-series of novels, which he and Weber write together.
He created, among others, the prominent character of Havenite intelligence genius Victor Cachat.
The character Eric Flint in the Star Kingdom series is named for him.
