Edward Saganami classes

The Edward Saganami- "class" was the Manticoran metaclass of heavy cruisers.

Ships of this class massed almost half a million tons and were the newest heavy cruiser design since the Star Knight-class. Designers copied there the Grayson layout of an all Graser armament. Although a much heavier design, their crew was actually a lot smaller than the average Star Knight's.

There were in fact three heavy cruiser classes of this name, with the later two being designated Saganamis in order to hide their development from the second Janacek Admiralty. (Companion)
