Desjardin was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
Holding the rank of Lieutenant in the 1870s PD, he served as a flight instructor at the Royal Manticoran Naval Academy on Saganami Island. He grounded cadet Honor Harrington for a full month for ignoring weather warnings and instruments alike on a night sailplane flight in her first term. (HH4)
