Covington-class units were slightly larger than the Manticoran Minotaur-class carriers and carried 124 LACs. (HH10)
In 1917 PD, several Flight I units of this class underwent minor refits to their ammunition handling machinery to rearm and service Katana-class attack LACs with the Mark 9 Viper anti-LAC missile.
Flight II was constructed from the keel out with new machinery to more efficiently store both the shipkillers and countermissiles for the Shrike class as well as the Vipers for the the Katana class. (Companion)
