The Bright Water Clan was a Sphinxian treecat clan whose territory was close to the Harrington Clan's homestead. (HHA1.1: ABF)
Bright Water was one of the oldest clans, with Black Rock Clan being part of it orginally. They were one of the few clans to have lived in the same central nesting place since their founding.(HH12, HHA2.2: WPD) They were considered to be the leading clan in human-treecat relations by other treecat clans, and the first to establish a treecat colony on another planet. In 1921 PD the clan sent a second 'colony expedition' to the Duchy of Harrington on Gryphon. (Companion)
