The Black Rock Clan was one of the oldest treecat clans that resided on the planet Sphinx. They were an offshoot of the Bright Water Clan.
Unlike most clans, its members had only limited contact with humans due to the remoteness of their central nest and lack of nearby human settlements in the Copperwall Mountains. Still, they were visited regularly by Sphinx Forestry Service rangers and doctors. In 1922 PD, almost the entire clan was wiped out by debris from space that hit the clans range as a result of the Mesan Operation Oyster Bay. (HH12)
Sorrow Singer, a memory singer who was visiting Moonlight Dancing Clan to see one of her brothers who had bonded into that clan, was the only known survivor of Black Rock. (HH13)
