An Ante Diaspora baseball field in Chicago
Baseball was a sport played with great relish on Grayson, Earth and at least five other planets.
It was a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each.
The Reverend Austin Grayson was a huge fan of the game. Many steadings developed teams that formed a professional planetary league overseen by the Commissioner of Baseball as well as the Rules Committee and the Owners' Committee. Baseball was almost unknown in the Star Kingdom of Manticore, so Andrew LaFollet had to explain it to Honor Harrington, who herself attempted to explain it to her friend Michelle Henke. (HH4, HH10)
The professional team of Harrington Steading was called the Harrington Treecats. Their home field was James Candless Memorial Field. (HH10)
