Baen Books is an American publishing company, established in 1983 by long time science fiction publisher and editor Jim Baen[1], that emphasizes space opera, hard science fiction, military science fiction, and fantasy.
Baen is the main publisher of the Honorverse novels and most of David Weber's other works.
Baen's Bar[]
Baen's Bar is an online community created around Baen's author-to-fan discussion forums where each author, including David Weber and Eric Flint, has at least one of their own (originally implemented as a bulletin board system), or with sufficient interest in their works, perhaps several.
Baen Free Library[]
Many of Baen's copyrighted books, including the majority of the Honor Harrington novels, are available in the Baen Free Library, a project supported by many of Baen's authors.
It is a digital library where over 110 full books can be downloaded free in a number of formats, without any copy protection. It was founded in autumn 1999 by Eric Flint and publisher Jim Baen to determine whether the availability of books free of charge on the Internet encourages or discourages the sale of their printed-on-paper versions.
