Adam Šiml was a Chotěbořian citizen and President of Sdružení Sokol Chotěboř, the predominant sports association on the planet Chotěboř, until his ascension to the presidency of the Chotěbořian Republika.
History[]
The nominal head of the Šiml family, he was the former Chotěbořan Minister of Agriculture and was ousted as a scapegoat for the delay in finding a public cure for the komáři (komár hnědy rybniční, a ubiquitous 'nuisance' insect pest which had mutated into a deadly disease). Šiml had lost his wife, Kristýna Šimlová Louthanová, teenaged son and both infant daughters to the komáři and had made it a personal mission in life to solve the outbreak.[1]
In 1922 PD, Šiml, with the support of Karl-Heinz Sabatino, the local CEO of Frogmore-Wellington Aeronautics and Iwahara Interstellar, and tacit approval of Office of Frontier Security System Administrator Luis Verner, led a popular revolution against System President Jan Cabrnoch, ascending to the presidency himself when Cabrnoch resigned.
Shortly thereafter, he retained the office when Task Group 10.2.8 of the Royal Manticoran Navy restored the Republika to sovereignty in the Kumang System following the Battle of Kumang. (SI4)
