MaleAbelard Boniece was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
Biography[]
In the late 19th Century PD, Boniece held the rank of Captain and was in command of the light cruiser HMS Intransigent.
Crown Prince Michael was transferred to Boniece's ship for his Midshipman cruise shortly before it departed for the Endicott System on a diplomatic mission to Masada. When Lieutenant Carlotta Dunsinane, his Assistant Tactical and Officer Candidate Training Officer, doubted "Midshipman Winton"'s dedication and abilities, Captain Boniece warned her to restrain herself from judging him simply on his Royal birth.
Once in the Endicott System, Intransigent covered the retreat of the armed merchantman Aaron's Rod, which had been taken over by the Sisterhood of Barbara and used to escape from Masada. During that operation, Captain Boniece and his crew used anti-missile weapons, but did not actually engage the Masadan armed merchantmen Psalms and Proverbs in battle. Following the successful escape of both Intransigent and Aaron's Rod from the system, Boniece returned his ship to Manticore. (HHA4.1: PL)
